The principle of the company, Peter Gandy oversees all stock taking and stock valuation contracts. His varied experience from a diverse background helps to bring a wide experience to the business.

Peter was originally trained in an engineering background as an agricultural engineer, he then joined the high chain of “Halfords” as an assistant and within time he became a successful branch manager at a variety of locations. Later he became a parts manager in the franchised motor trade and also returned to part time education becoming, after examinations a full member of the “Institute Of The Motor Industry” this enabled progress within the industry.

Sales management, general management, director and company secretary positions followed and elevation to “Fellow Institute Of The Motor Industry” was granted in recognition of the positions and responsibilities covered. But as the companies involved were large national organisations such as Lonhro, Thomas Tilling, Allied Lyons, no equity was possible, this prompted a move into self-employment. These earlier positions in management gave practical experience in stocktaking, accountancy, legal requirements, budgeting, staff matters, training, sales, marketing, stock control and export. Courses run by Vauxhall, VW-Audi, road transport industry training board and day release/evening courses for the Diploma of Management Studies have all increased the knowledge pool.

Other activities Peter has been engaged in have been to sell insurance, loans and mortgages, arrangement and the organisation of trade shows, fairs and markets, all adding to the appreciation and understanding of other business matters.

Positions on the Hertfordshire “Institute Of The Motor Industry” Management Committee and on the National Committee of “The Trade Valuers Instate” increased the area of shared knowledge where the company can call in a specialist in the rare event that there is a shortfall in the experience.
